### Oliver's Fraction Scribepost

Today in class we learned more about dividing fractions. The first thing we did was go over our homework which will be explained later. If a whole number is being divided by a fraction you cannot use the share method. Also when you are dividing whole numbers with fractions make sure you first turn the whole number into a fraction by making over 1 eg. 6 divide by 1/2, 6/1 divided by 1/2. when using a number line and the question is 6 divided by 2 you could think of it as how many halves does it take to get to 6. Dividing fractions is the same as multiplying it by its reciprocal. A Reciprocal is the fraction that when multiplied creates a product of 1 for eg. 1/2 x 2/1 = 2/2= 1

My Test Corrections
What I got wrong on the test is the multiplying fractions sentence.
My answer was, "How many groups of 5/6 are in 1/2?. I got that wrong.
The correct sentence is "5/6 groups of 1/2."
